Dear Freinds,
I have exciting news to share! Charmaghz was selected as a 2024 Library of Congress Literacy Awards Program Successful Practice Honoree! The award recognizes Charmaghz's critical work in providing literacy through innovative and successful practices. I am so happy to share this news with you and thank you for your unwavering support! Our ability to make a lasting difference in the lives of Afghan children would not be possible without you.
I would also like to share a story from one of our young visitors, ten-year-old Ahmad*. He recently moved to Kabul and is one of our newest visitors to the Violet Van. He shared with our Librarians that he feels “the Library is like our home.” His favorite book at the Library is The Friendship of Mouse and Cat because he enjoyed the moral of the story.
This story highlights the individual impact you are ensuring our team makes. Your support helps us provide needed literacy skills and an environment that is welcoming and safe for children like Ahmad. At our Libraries Afghan boys and girls know they are welcomed and valued.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and for all you do to ensure that our work continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of children!
Warmest regards,
Freshta Karim
P.S. If you would like to ensure more children have access to our Libraries please consider continuing your support. Currently, all donations under $1,000 will be matched by 50%!
