By Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana | Project Leader
Dear Freinds/ Donors,
I take this opporunity to thank you for the support you offered to Rwandan Youth Development and Volunary Organization to implement Support Community Health Workers in Rural Area project. Since the beginning of this project, we have supported more than 150 Community health workers and now we have the target to reach 450.
In Rwanda, Community Health Workers (CHW) are the first health contact for the rural community. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted gaps in infection control and prevention trainings as well as provision of basic sanitation supplies and personal protective equipment for CHWs, especially those based in rural communities. If CHWs are not protected and well skilled, they are at the highest risk of contracting the coronavirus and other infectious diseases and spreading them to the rest of the community, leading to catastrophic outcomes that we have seen globally.
Your support will continue to support this project, and we can not achived our goals without your support.
Kind regards
Rwaydavo president
Jean
