Dear Patrons,
We hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe and well during these challenging times.
We wish to inform you that Rwanda has recently reported its first confirmed cases of mpox. As of August 7, 2024, there have been four confirmed cases in the country. In light of this development, we want to extend our sincere gratitude for your generous donations and unwavering support.
Your contributions have been instrumental in enabling the Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary Organization (RWAYDAVO) to provide essential resources such as training of community health workers, masks, hand sanitizers, infrared thermometers, and health education. Your support is crucial in our efforts to combat the spread of mpox and safeguard our communities. Mpox, a potentially fatal disease, initially presents with flu-like symptoms and can lead to widespread skin lesions. The WHO has emphasized the urgent need for action to prevent further spread, as the consequences could extend beyond Africa if not addressed promptly.
Your continued support is vital to our mission of saving lives and curbing the spread of mpox. We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.
Thank you once again for your dedication and support. Stay healthy and safe.
Warm regards,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
