Last year's floods in Afghanistan have caused widespread devastation, leaving many families struggling to recover. With the generous $7,500 grant from GlobalGiving, we have been able to provide essential support to Teach for Afghanistan Fellows, Alumni, and local schools, helping maintain education amidst adversity.
These funds have enabled us to distribute food supplies to affected Fellows, Staff, and Alumni in Seasang village of Surkhrod district, where the damage has been severe. Additionally, we have supplied solar panels and mats to schools in Nangarhar, ensuring that children can continue learning in safe and functional spaces.
Despite these efforts, the crisis is far from over. Outside of GlobalGiving’s support, we have only been able to raise an additional USD 20. This is a fraction of what is needed to sustain our initiatives. We have actively reached out to donors and shared project updates on social media, yet the response remains insufficient to meet the overwhelming needs.
As part of the Safer World Fund, donations to our cause can have an amplified impact. But the need is urgent. Schools remain in ruins, families are struggling to regain stability, and the emotional toll on children is profound. Without immediate financial assistance, we cannot extend our efforts to rebuild educational spaces, supply critical learning materials, and offer psychological support to those affected.
We urge you to take action now. Every donation, no matter the amount, will directly contribute to restoring education and hope for Afghan children. Please consider supporting our mission and sharing this appeal with others who can help.
Your generosity can change lives. Thank you for standing with us in this critical time.
