The "Able Youth" Initiative is unlocking economic opportunities for youth with disabilities in Noyemberyan, a vibrant region of Tavush Marz, Armenia. Through training in artisan jewelry-making and dedicated mentorship, we equip 10 young people annually with the skills to craft silver and metal jewelry infused with dried flowers from their homeland. Each piece tells a story of nature, resilience, and creativity.
In Armenia, youth with disabilities face overwhelming barriers to employment and independence. With a staggering 92% unemployment rate among persons with disabilities, these young people are excluded from the workforce and left economically vulnerable. In regions like Tavush Marz, these youth are often invisible in their communities, denied both opportunity and dignity.
Project will provide targeted vocational training and continuous mentorship in artisan jewelry-making, focusing particularly on the use of silver, metals, and preserved natural elements from the Noyemberyan region. The youth will gain valuable hands-on skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and business development support. By offering ongoing guidance and real opportunities to generate income, project will break down barriers to economic independence and inclusion for youth with disabilities.
This project will build a foundation for lifelong change. By equipping youth with disabilities with practical, marketable skills, we are opening doors to sustainable economic independence and greater social participation. Over time, these empowered individuals will not only improve their own quality of life but also inspire broader societal shifts toward inclusivity.
