Segundo año de la Clínica Jurídica de Derecho a la Vivienda "María Luisa Marín"
El trabajo de la Clínica que ofrece asesoría gratuita a personas vulnerables ha ido creciendo. Para dar cuenta de su labor, en los primeros días de diciembre de este año, la Clínica presentó el informe anual de actividades, en el que se muestra el avance de la agenda del derecho a la vivienda en la Ciudad de México desde los distintos frentes que abarca su trabajo, como lo es la formación a estudiantes, asesoría jurídica, convocatoria a eventos de difusión, actividades de divulgación e incidencia, y posicionamiento en medios de comunicación.
Algunos resultados mencionados en el informe se refieren a que durante el 2024, 19 estudiantes se involucraron en las sesiones formativas, así como en algunas actividades prácticas como apoyo en asesorías, realización de investigaciones y análisis, y seguimiento en casos. En cuanto a las asesorías, en el año se impartieron un total de 8 individuales y colectivas en ámbito rural y urbano, siendo tres de ellas de particular relevancia para la Clínica por su temática y potencial de incidencia a mediano plazo. Las principales temáticas de los casos atendidos fueron: gentrificación; desplazamiento y expulsión; y corte de servicios.
Para avanzar en la agenda de incidencia, la Clínica mantuvo reuniones con autoridades del gobierno de la Ciudad de México como parte de la estrategia de acompañamiento en los casos y para posicionar las problemáticas y retos en la materia. De igual forma, brindó una capacitación sobre derecho a la vivienda en el Tribunal Superior de Justicia de la CDMX, y co-convocó a un encuentro de clínicas especializadas en derechos sociales, a la que asistieron participantes de Colombia, Argentina, Reino Unido y México.
Finalmente, la Clínica también impulsó y participó en diversas actividades de corte más cultural, como exposiciones y bazares informativos, en donde hubo una alta participación del público en general. De esta forma, el 2024 cierra con una gran variedad de actividades realizadas, así como vinculaciones para seguir impulsando acciones estratégicas por el derecho a la vivienda adecuada y sobre todo con la alegría de haber evitado desalojos.

Second year of the Legal Clinic on Housing Rights "María Luisa Marín"
The work of the Clinic, which offers free legal advice to vulnerable people, has been growing since its launch in 2023. To highlight its efforts, the Clinic presented its annual report in early December this year. The report details the progress made in advancing housing rights in Mexico City through its fields of action, including student training, legal counseling, promoting dissemination events, organizing advocacy activities, and increasing its presence in the media.
Some of the results cited in the report indicate that in 2024, 19 students participated in training sessions and took part in practical activities such as providing advisory support, conducting research and analysis, and following up on cases. Throughout the year, a total of 8 individual and group legal counseling sessions were held in both rural and urban areas, three of which were particularly significant for the Clinic due to their subject matter and potential medium-term advocacy impact. The main issues addressed in these cases included gentrification, displacement and eviction, and disruption of services.
To further its advocacy agenda, the Clinic held meetings with government authorities of Mexico City as part of its strategy to support cases and raise awareness of key issues and challenges in this matter. It also conducted training on the right to housing at the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City and co-organized a meeting of clinics specializing in social rights, which was attended by participants from Colombia, Argentina, the United Kingdom, and Mexico.
Finally, the Clinic actively promoted and participated in various cultural activities, such as exhibitions and informational bazaars, which saw strong public participation. As 2024 comes to a close, the Clinic reflects on the diverse range of activities undertaken and all the valuable connections made, all while continuing to advance strategic actions for the right to adequate housing and, most importantly, celebrating the success of preventing evictions.
