Solidarity Project has had a busy start to 2023! Three of our partner communities have microgrant projects under way. Our partner communities use our flagship Mesa Comunitaria process to identify projects that will be most meaningful to them. We will support 7 Mesa Comunitaria projects over the course of this year.
Coa Abajo has chosen to renovate a building to create a town museum. Solidarity Project's microgrant will allow them to create a floor for the museum.
Soroguara elected to erect a perimeter wall for the children's school to promote safe, active play.
Aguacatal will complete a project that began last year, building a new bridge to the community that was destroyed in a hurricane in 2020. Community members chose to use their Solidarity Project microgrant to complete this project, reinstating a crucial access to and from Aguacatal.
Our Mesa Comunitaria program entrusts our partner communities with considerable freedom and power to undertake projects that they see as important and impactful. Thank you for putting your trust in us and in them. It's always exciting to see what they choose!
