While continuing to take precautions against the spread of Covid -19, and many other communicable diseases, with the support we got from GlobalGiving, we managed to donate two handwashing stations (tippy taps) to a school called Mkonoo Secondary which is in Arusha, Tanzania where there is a scarcity of water as compared to other places. This station was identified during an outreach program after observing what the staff and students were going through to make promote hygiene and sanitation with little water at school. According to the history from school's health ambassador, the school has been practicing these health precautions even before the covid-19 outbreak that everyone around the school compass after using washrooms they were required by the school laws to wash hands before engaging in other activities, so there were water stations in all the angles for people to wash their hands.
The school has been incredibly grateful to receive this support and they have testified that the handwashing machines will be of beneficial use in ensuring hygiene, likewise the proper use of clean water. It’s our belief the two devices will be well utilized by the school staff by ensuring proper use and maintenance.
We thank you for supporting this project and we envision proceeding with this project by reaching out to other places that are at substantial risk of getting diseases accelerated by hand contamination, this includes public places such as markets, hospitals, and schools.
