As the waves come in and go, strict directives from the government and campaigns to slow the spread if the virus, one thing has been making strides and improving livelihoods; Technology. Local technology has played its part in making a positive impact on public health in Arusha.
Through the foot-operated hand-washing stations developed in our makerspace, over 700 people have found them useful and helpful as they carryout their activities in school or at a health centre.
Due to slow progress on donations, we have not made any tippy taps in the past 3 months. we have repaired only one which had a loose pedal due to overuse. The users are grateful for havig them and we wish to distribute more to as many public schools and health centres as possible.
It is through your continued support that we have made it this far and we appreciate it.
We will keep you posted on the prospects of using locally made tech to slow the spread inf COVID-19.
Warm Regards and Happy Holidays,
Nzira and the Twende Team!
