The Mabati Medical Centre has continued to increase access to quality healthcare to majority of vulnerable households living around Mariakani in Kilifi County. We are delighted to report that our services have contributed to the promotion of preventive and curative health services to underserved communities to enable them live a healthy and productive life. We definitely could not have done this without the generous support from friends and partners like you.
The Mabati Medical Centre has from the beginning of this year provided medical services to 22,665 patients living in the area covering 278.1 KM2. To shield families from the adverse effects of corona virus, our medical centre partnered with Kilifi County Department of Health to rollout out COVID-19 vaccinations. A total of 300 people were administered Covid-19 vaccines during the 3 days’ outreach.
Our fully equipped diagnostic services which consists of a state of the art Radiology unit and Medical Laboratory has also been fully operational. We successfully conducted 2206 radiology examinations and 7726 laboratory tests to improve diagnosis and the quality of treatments. 1162 children received immunization services to protect them from contracting deadly diseases like polio, measles etc.
We have also invested in building the capacity of our health workers by training them on COVID-19 prevention and vaccination protocols, Tuberculosis (TB) and cancer screening to promote preventive health services. We believe that prevention is better than cure, and hence our commitment to equip families around Mariakani with knowledge and information to better manage their health and well-being. Through your support, the Mabati Medical Centre is contributing to the realization of the UN Sustainable Goal 3 and acceleration of universal health coverage in Kenya.
We value and appreciate all our GlobalGiving donors, our long term partners and main sponsor the Mabati Rolling Mills who have made it possible for us to make a difference in our community despite the challenging times. On behalf of our staff and beneficiaries, we say a BIG THANK YOU for enabling us to increase access to curative and preventive health services and improve the well-being of many households in Kilifi County, Kenya.
