Providing quality and affordable healthcare continues to sit at the core of our work at Mabati Medical Centre. Our service delivery is guided by strict operating procedures that ensure all our patients are provided access to quality medical care and diagnsotic services.
The Mabati Medical Centre has administered treatment to 8,346 patients, conducted 2,530 laboratory tests and 808 radiology examination since January 2023.While there are various other facilities within the Kilifi County jurisdiction, the Mabati Medical Centre continues to receive numerous referrals of patients from around Mariakani for specialized diagnostic services. This is a clear indication of the community’s trust in the quality of services offered at the facility.
The medical team has been at the forefront of providing preventive healthcare services through organized community medical outreaches. In the first quater of 2023, our teams conducted a cervical cancer awareness outreach reaching 310 community members with screening and health information mesages about cervical cancer. To improve the oral healthcare and hygiene for children, our medical teams conducted a field awareness campaign at Mwareni Primary School for 1220 pupils and distributed dental cleaning kits alongside conducting educational sessions on dental hygiene.
The Mabati Medical Centre also showed exemplary performance in this year’s External Quality Assurance assessment. With a score of 100% in Hematology and 90% in Clinical Chemistry, the assessment confirmed the level of quality healthcare offered at the Centre. Medical Staff capacity enhancement has also been done to ensure constant improvement in their work and knowledge. Through collaborative efforts with stakeholders like the Respiratory Society of Kenya, our team underwent a training on Tuberculosis diagnosis, treatment & management. This training will go a long way in equipping our medical team with essential diagnostic and treatment skills to combat Tuberculosis on a day to day basis. Our partnership with Ananda Marga Relief Team (AMURT) has enabled us to provide free X-ray test for children under 14years.
With more than half the year ahead of us, we still have many more opportunities to make a bigger impact on our communities, and it is thanks to our partners, supporters and GlobalGiving donors like you that the work at Mabati Medical Centre continues to change the lives of households in Kilifi county. We are grateful for continued support that has enabled us to increase access to quality and affordable heathcare the many vulnerable households and families in Kilifi. Thank You and God Bless you for your support.
