The Solidarity Project continues to be so thankful for your support of our Rural Community Health Volunteer and Community pharmacy program!
Thanks to you, we have made great progress over the past months.
Volunteer Susy K. worked with The Solidarity Project over three months to support our rural health leaders. Using her background in nursing and education, Susy offered workshops to strengthen our rural health leaders knowledge in basic medical skills.
Additionally, we partnered with the Red Cross so support our community health worker volunteers to complete further first aid certifications.
Karla, one of our community health volunteers shares: "Three days after our first trainings, I had a patient that presented with a 3rd degree burn. Using the knowledge I learned, I was able to treat him until a nurse was able to evaluate him a few days later. The patient did well and I felt grateful to have been able to help him. I felt called to be a community health volunteer because I see the need in our community for somebody with some medical training since we don’t have any doctors or nurses in our community. Most people in our community cannot afford to travel to seek medical care. I want to tell those supporting us thank you for making our work possible. It is an honor to serve our community and be a part of The Solidarity Project team."
Thank you all for your incredible support - thanks to you we can continue to support Honduran leaders in creating positive change in their communities.
