Session with children

We are thankful to our donors for making this vital project possible. Your generosity helps us provide psychological and social support to vulnerable communities, reaching women, children, and the elderly in the Masafer Yatta area.

The ongoing instability continues to affect the local community, especially children, leaving them in fear and uncertainty. Fatma has been providing support to them. Through field visits, group sessions, and individual counseling, she has impacted the lives of children, women, and elderly individuals in numerous locations, including Susya, Kalet Saleh, Aljawaya, Tuwana, Shou’b Alboutom, Imnazel, and many others.

Child Protection and Safety Training

  • Fatma led awareness sessions for children on recognizing dangerous places, especially in areas with settler activity.
  • She taught children how to avoid unsafe areas like exposed wells or high grounds and how to stay alert in risky environments.
  • A child participant in the safety training workshop shared, “We learned how to be careful and look out for ourselves, especially with the exercises that help us.”

Psychological Support for Families Facing Violence

  • Conducted debriefing sessions with mothers to help them reassure their children and manage constant threats.
  • Offering emotional and practical support to families following traumatic events.
  • After a violent settler attack, Fatma worked closely with one mother to calm her terrified children and teach them protective techniques. The mother was grateful and shared, “We now understand how to talk to our children without shouting. We learned to listen to them better.”

Mental Health Support for the Elderly

  • Organized home visits to elderly individuals facing loneliness and emotional distress.

Women Empowerment and Parenting Workshops

  • Hosted sessions on stress management, self-confidence, and healthy parenting.
  • Focused on building communication skills and non-violent approaches to parenting.

Support for Individuals with Special Needs

  • Provided counseling and inclusion activities for people with disabilities.
  • Worked with families to identify care gaps and offer practical tools for better support.

Fatma encountered many obstacles in carrying out her work. Road closures and military checkpoints restricted access to those in need, while settler violence posed constant threats, including harassment and attacks.

With your support, we aim to reach more vulnerable communities, expand mental health services, and ensure access to care and protection. Your contributions make a real difference, fostering resilience, hope, and healing.
