Fortunately, things have have been relatively stable on Utila. There are still ongoing mild cases of Covid,
We have been working on bringing in Fire Fighter equipment, which is awaiting customs clearance. After that equipment clears, we will be working with volunteers as well as coordinating with the municipality on the best protective plans we can put in place, and supplement any other needed fire related equipment.
We will start work on other projects once this project is complete.
Food insecurity does not appear to be a major issue at this time, as tourism has increased slightly and more jobs are available in the community, between the tourism and construction industries.
We will have a more indepth update once the fire equipment has reached Utila and is put into action.
