In our mission to combat climate change and improve the quality of life for communities, we’ve been focusing on providing CO2-friendly stoves and promoting sustainable energy sources. However, we’ve recently noticed a slowdown in donations, which are vital for our work.
The burning of solid fuels like wood, charcoal, and animal dung is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and poses serious health risks. It’s not just a health issue; it’s also causing lasting and serious environmental damage. A donation of just $11 can fund a CO2-friendly stove for one family, significantly reducing their carbon footprint and improving their health.
In addition to stoves, our community uses a number of energy sources in local health clinics that also release high emissions. This project aims to equip locals with solar power and electrical equipment for lighting, fans, nebulisers, and refrigeration for medicines and vaccines. It will also build the capacity of local artisans to construct and roll-out the use of improved, energy-efficient cookstoves across the communities. This initiative supports cleaner cookstoves and those who are least able to purchase them.
