In our latest update, we shared some exciting news about our collaboration with Yayasan Bina Berdaya Bangsa. This partnership has formed with the aim of helping children develop a love for reading in one of Jakarta's Urban Poor communities. Looking ahead to the next year, our primary focus at YTA remains on Jakarta's Urban Poor and our programs in NTT (remote Eastern Indonesia). While we're grateful to implement our programs in other places too, having these two focus areas helps us in decision-making.
We also want to highlight a significant achievement from last month – the successful training of two enthusiastic volunteers. These volunteers are doing a fantastic job providing reading and writing lessons to kids in West Jakarta facing tough living conditions. It's disheartening to hear that many of these kids can't attend school or find it challenging to keep up. However, it's encouraging to see how these volunteers dedicate their time and share love with these children, helping them develop the ability and love for reading.
Thanks to these dedicated volunteers, our materials are now supporting many new children from Jakarta's Urban Poor. We know this wouldn't be possible without others, so we again want to thank you for your support.
As mentioned before, we're always on the lookout for new donations and partnerships to grow our work. If you have any good ideas or know someone who might want to help, please let us know.
Salam literasi,
Stu Patience
