NCDs like diabetes, hypertension, and cancer are ravaging rural Kenya, claiming lives and pushing families into poverty. Over 39% of deaths in Kenya are due to NCDs, with rural communities disproportionately affected by geographic isolation and barriers to prevention, early detection, and care. In western Kenya, limited access to services leads to late diagnoses, severe complications, and financial strain on families. Without urgent intervention, these communities face devastating losses.
The NCD Center will tackle NCDs through a holistic approach focusing on prevention, management, and support. It will offer education and awareness to empower communities, early detection and treatment to prevent complications, and an Emergency Response Unit to reach remote areas. Vulnerable groups like the elderly and caregivers will benefit from tailored care, physical activities, holistic care and programs like Adopt a Patient to ensure medication access, transforming lives and restoring hope.
The Kenya NCD Center will be transformative for rural communities.
