We are thrilled to offer a 1-for-1 match for all donations up to $2500 starting on September 11, 2010, until the matching funds are gone. Donations to the Safer World Fund or any of the projects it comprises will be matched. In addition, we have decided to focus on projects that specifically target education and/or healthcare for women and girls in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
After reading Half the Sky by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, we are even more convinced that providing opportunities for women and girls to acquire education and receive healthcare will lead to a brighter future for people in those two countries.
We have also included a couple of projects that provide support to people suffering from the aftermath of the floods in Pakistan because we believe that the response to that disaster has not been as strong as the responses to other recent natural disasters.
Please help us support the highly effective projects in the Safer World Fund, and take advantage of the 1-for-1 match while it lasts.
