Greetings Kono Gnaga family!
We are excited to share updates on our current initiatives as we approach the Dou Ba Festival in Bamako tomorrow (Saturday January 11th!), followed by the Segou Festival next weekend. Our programs are underway in 8 schools in Bamako and 2 in Segou, where students are combining traditional dance and music with community-focused messages. This new initiative encourages teamwork and the use of art for social change, and we’re eager to see the results at the upcoming festivals. Please join us tomorrow, Saturday January 11 at 11am EST/ 4pm Bamako Time on Facebook Live(Via Souleymane Solo Sana's FB page) for a live streaming of the event.
In other news we recently conducted a Child Protection Policy orientation for all Kono Gnaga artists and administrators, ensuring everyone understands and adheres to our safeguarding rules to protect children from harm. This participatory process was vital for creating a safe environment for the children in our programs.
