Dear supporters,
We are happy to report that our programme of training #MenEndFGM champions across Kenya is still on course. As indicated in our earlier reports the money raised so far was sufficient for only one training as per our budget but through partnerships we have been able to do trainings in 8 Counties of the 22 targeted counties. Additionally, we have increased the number of trainees in the counties from the initial target of 20 per County to 40 and above.
In addition to Meru and Isiolo Counties reported earlier we have been able to train in the following 6 additional Counties
Wajir – 40 Champions
Garissa – 40 Champions
Tana River – 40 Champions
Samburu – 35 Male champions and 5 Female Champions
Elgeiyo Marakwet – 39 male champions and 14 Female Champions
Baringo- 51 Male champions and 21 Female Champions
All this was made possible by forging short term partnerships with UNICEF Kenya, UNFPA Kenya, Anti-FGM Board Kenya, WomanKind Kenya and World Vision Kenya. We are happy report that most of the trained champions have already started engaging their community members in different forums.
Going forward we are looking for partnerships to help us carry training in the remaining 14 Counties as well as carry out follow follow-up activities with our trained champions. This is also an appeal to continue donating to our project
Please dont forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel as we will keep uploading amzing videos from our different trainings
