So far in 2015, AIL Learning Centers have educated over 20,000 students , the health program has provided care to over 129,000 people and health education to 82,000! Your donation will help AIL to continue providing vital education and health services and transform lives for the better in Afghanistan.
Adolescent girls are an impressionable group and well able to absorb new ways of thinking and behaving. AIL teaches these girls to think and have their own opinions and to see themselves as leaders. These life lessons are in addition to regular classes taken at centers. One student from the AIL center at an orphanage said, “ My name is Fatana. I am 18years old. I attended English classes and I got capable enough to start teaching. For a girl of my age it is difficult to become a teacher, but AIL makes it possible to be what I wanted. I am so happy because I can teach English and get money to pay my university and life expenses. I want to be a good leader as soon as possible. My life has changed since coming to this center. The teachers directed me in the best ways and motivated me to feel responsible for my future.”
The matching funds are only available for a limited time, so be sure to make your donations on October 7 at 12.01 pm ET! All donations are final and up to $1,000 per donor per organization can be matched. The percentage of the match will be determined at the end of the day.
