If you ever doubted the power of your contribution, please, read this report! In total, we helped 1,704 individuals!
Depsite the increasing violence against our people, from January to May 2024, our psycho-social support project has made remarkable progress in providing essential services to children, youth, and adults across the West Bank and Gaza.
Our team, consisting of 13 dedicated trainers, has been working tirelessly to deliver interventions aimed at building resilience, enhancing coping skills, and fostering a sense of community among participants.
In the West Bank, five trainers have been active in various locations including Ramallah and Bethlehem. In Ramallah, we conducted workshops with ten trainers focused on skill development and preparation for subsequent sessions.
Our interventions reached diverse groups such as the ASHTAR based group, which included 22 participants aged 12-35, and the UNRWA School for Girls in the Jalazoun Refugee Camp, where 900 female students aged 5-15 benefitted from our programs. We also worked with 15 male participants aged 15-17 at Dar Al Amal for Rehabilitation and Protection of Children, and 32 female participants aged 30-66 at the Inash Alusra Association.
Additionally, a group of 10 female children from Gaza participated in sessions held in Ramallah.
Furthermore, we trained 30 youth facilitators aged 21-30 and engaged 70 university students in our activities. In Bethlehem, our interventions included sessions at Dar Al Majus with 15 participants, and at Terra Santa School and St. Joseph School, each with 150 participants.
In Gaza, our eight trainers focused their efforts on working with displaced Gazans in Rafah. We reached 300 children aged 11-13 at UNRWA refugee schools.
In total, 1,704 individuals, predominantly children, have participated in our training and intervention sessions since January 2024. Our interventions were varied and tailored to meet the specific needs of the participants, including theatre exercises and games, creative writing, reading of the Gaza Monologues, movement and ventilation sessions, and skills development workshops. The timeline of our activities began with trainers' workshops from January to February. The sessions at the UNRWA School for Girls in the Jalazoun Refugee Camp ran from January 23 to April 30. Activities at the Inash Alusra Association took place from March 5 to May 30, and at Dar Al Amal for Rehabilitation and Protection of Children from May 1 to May 30. In April, we conducted sessions for the Gaza group in Ramallah. Activities for youth facilitators and university students spanned from February to June. In Bethlehem, our interventions were held from February to March, and in Gaza from March to April. The psycho-social support project has made significant strides in fostering resilience and hope among children and adults in the West Bank and Gaza.
The commitment of our trainers, the engagement of participants and your contributions have been pivotal in the success of our interventions.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors for your support this far, which has been instrumental in making these initiatives possible.
