FCMI July 2020 Report

By Steven Biko and Yvonne Gache | GSN FCMI Support Staff

There is something more infectious than COVID19, and that is a smile. A smile by our Community Mobilizer, Jackie as she distributed the ‘Carol Mask” provided by the Green String Network through your support at a community center in Kabiro-Kawangware, Nairobi. The smiles of families, the elderly who are still taking care of their adult children and grandchildren who will also smile because they each received two masks to keep them and their families safe for six months.

For their neighbors who were not at the community center and couldn't share in the smile, they will still be able to get Interactive Education Material (IEC) with the masks, allowing them to learn the dos and don'ts of wearing the mask, how to live with a mask and how to wash the cloth masks.

We have trained 19 women tailors and have made and distributed over 1,600 maks to the elderly, children, orphans and at risk teenage girls.

Because you smiled on us, we helped Jackie smile, who helped families smile and like we said, there's something more infectious than COVID19.
