By Cesario V. Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative providing food, water and sanitation to poor families affected by Typhoon Vinta. The destruction wrought by the typhoon is unprecedented as logs, stones, mud and debris from the mountains came crashing into communities downstream. Our organization is expert in constructing latrines and this is what we started providing to the communities because we fear for another wave of disaster which is disease epidemic brought by the lack of sanitary facilities. We use the same model as the latrines we constructed during Typhoon Haiyan in Samar which is using bamboo mats, coconut lumber and concrete septic tank and flooring. We deployed our masons and carpenters who are veterans in this type of activity. This reporting period we built 57 latrines already and will continue to build as days go by. We are concentrating in the municipality of Sergio Osmena in Zamboanga del Norte in this effort.
Again, thank you very much for your generosity.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesario
