Dear friends,
We are happy to report that your generous donations have ensured that children from contact zones and dangerous areas receive the most basic necessities they urgently need. "Thank you for everything you do for our family! Your support and care give us faith and hope for the future," says Nadezhda, a mother of two, who is very grateful for the food package.
This time, the help provided amounted to USD 1695. These food and hygiene product packages are crucial to the well-being of every child we support. The story below is truly heartbreaking, reflecting the struggles faced by many of our beneficiaries:
"My name is Alena, and I am 28 years old. My family is originally from Northern Saltivka [a village that was severely damaged during the fighting]. Our apartment was damaged, making it impossible for us to live there. The repairs need to be done from scratch. I never imagined that I would become a widow at such a young age. My beloved husband died on July 26, 2024, while trying to provide for us."
The little money the family had left was spent on wood to heat their home, food, and diapers. Coping with the death of her husband has been incredibly difficult for Alena, but she is doing her best to care for their three young children.
"My late husband was my rock; he supported me in everything and took care of our youngest child while I worked. We live on a farm, but there is no work here, so I had to go to the city to find employment. Since his passing, my income has dropped to 5,860 hryvnias (about USD 140). With this money, I need to cover the cost of the house, refill the gas cylinder, and buy food for a few days. If my husband were here, he would help, but he's gone. Dear donors, please help my family."
