Dear YOUPSA supporter,
We wanted to update you about YOUPSA's initiative to get a more reliable and suitable vehicle for our work with rural disadvantaged children in South Africa. You have been so generous in contributing to this cause. Thank you very much, we are so grateful!
We are in the process of trying to secure the last bit of funds that YOUPSA needs to be able to purchase a suitable 2nd hand SUV. Great news - in January, one supporter of YOUPSA pledged to give 40% of the cost of ownership of the vehicle. Other individual supporters donated to YOUPSA's via bank transfer and different donation portals. It is so exciting to share with you that we are now 2/3 of the way there!
Please enjoy a few recent photos from the beginning of the school year here in the Gamtoos Valley, Eastern Cape, South Africa. It's been very hot and the 3 year drought is unfortunately not letting up. For now, on the way to schools we regularly walk in the heat, up steep rocky paths, carrying educational and art materials that the children at school so enjoy. The new vehicle will make this much easier.
Hopefully soon we will be able to report back to you that YOUPSA has purchased the vehicle, securing the continuation of the Creative Youth Empowerment programmes for rural disadvantaged children. We can't wait for this to happen.
Hope you enjoy this update. We'd love to hear from you!
With warm regards,
The YOUPSA Team
