Manjar para el alma / Delight for the soul

English version / Versión en Inglés

My name is Veronica. I am a former student of the Colegio Cristo Rey Altamira and mother of two girls that currently attend this School. I have been a pediatrician for 15 years, graduating from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV for its initials in Spanish) with Post-graduate studies in the University Hospital of Caracas. Since February 2016, I treat patients at the Madre María Luisa Casar Outpatient Clinic, located inside the Jenaro Elorriaga School. This fills my soul and spirit week to week.

In these 3 years, I have treated 1,180 patients. The experience has been truly enriching. Just getting there every Thursday, week after week and finding a list of 15 to 20 patients waiting to be treated, makes me realize that it is a very important commitment to have. At the end of my work day, seeing the children’s smiles, their gestures, the way they enjoy the lunch hour is a true delight for the soul.

For me, children are the most important element of any society and ensuring their health, growth and education is simply ensuring a better future for all.

I am filled with pride and eternally grateful to be a part of this beautiful family that is the Madre María Luisa Casar Foundation.
