This March 17th we kicked off our school year at DANZAREA with full force, with more than 600 hours of aerial and contemporary dance lessons planned.
With our program, we are promoting the comprehensive development of children and adolescents at risk through aerial and contemporary dance practice, academic mentoring, and psychosocial support. This program enhances their free time use and develops life skills in safe spaces where respect and trust prevail.
Between January and February, we reached 47 children and adolescents with aerial and contemporary dance training, and offered more than 45 hours of special activities during our VERANITO 2025 (Summer) program. In addition, this VERANITO program expanded into our PASADIZO program with special workshops in the communities of Sidney Young and Las Mañanitas, reaching an additional 77 youngsters.
Our goal for this year is to welcome 75 students to DANZAREA and 400 to PASADIZO, our community outreach program.
The DANZAREA program now includes mandatory academic reinforcement (185 hours/year) for all participants, as well as psychosocial support. Parents and guardians are also encouraged to join our Parents' Club, which offers workshops, training, and talks throughout the year to help them manage certain situations within the home, and apply healthy family dinamycs.
We continue to need the support of all our sponsors and friends to continue working towards improving the quality of life of our citizens through art and culture.
