Dear Proponents & Donors,
The WAFA team sincerely hopes that during this pandemic phase, you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. It’s been difficult to do business as usual in these extraordinary times! WAFA is also working against odds and we wish to share some of the recent developments with you and hope you will continue your support your support to the silent heroes and our mission to shine the light on the grassroots solutions.
As a global organization, WAFA also experienced set back in the last few months and could not do the Youth Climate Awards this year. However our board, executive team and volunteers decided to use these times to concentrate on building our internal strength and rebrand our organization to better equip ourselves for future. We have taken the opportunity to interact, map strategic priorities and establish long-term goals and tasks to support our grass root heroes. Being a virtual organization was an added advantage to us as we continue to work with our volunteers globally and have stayed as a support for each other.
We are currently designing the implementation plan to build WAFA’s team of ambassadors and supporters to find and nominate the youth heroes in sustainability. We also aim to deepen relationships with supporters like you to be our torchbearers, to help find the youth sustainability leaders.
We have started using the funds to nominate grass roots leaders in youth categories as we prepare to have award events in 2021. Funds raised through end of the year campaign will be used for enhanced country-based award events that will be virtual event and largely online with larger reach. The success of this program depends on a global Ambassador Program, collating ‘Silent Hero’ stories and sharing their efforts to identify ‘Silent Heroes’ in remote areas in all parts of the world.
Your generous support has enabled WAFA to continue to keep the doors open on a month-to-month basis as we are entirely based on volunteers and run on a very low budget. Your modest support has always encouraged us to continue with our mission and shine the light for past 14 years. Funds raised in the year 2020 will continue to support the objectives specified in the fundraiser: research and nomination, award money, and recognition events with promotions on social media.
We appeal you to continue to provide your support to WAFA’s mission so that we are encouraged to continue to promote the good work in remote communities!
