COMMUNITY-BASED SOLUTIONS FOR WATER, AIR AND FOOD

We are delighted to present this project report highlighting the endeavors and achievements of WAFA in advancing our mission of identifying and promoting outstanding sustainability initiatives in the areas of water, air, and food worldwide. We want to showcase our progress during the last 3 months:

Next Phase of the Award Cycle. WAFA is ready to release the Call-for-Action which opens the application phase for he WAFA Award. This announcement is scheduled for early January. From that point on, all interested projects and initiatives are invited to submit an application.

WAFA will also reach out to previous applicants, so that the ones interested can re-apply.

In parallel, WAFA is preparing the award event where the winners will be celebrated. The intention is to have a hybrid event where the event is taking place at a venue of a location that is yet to be determined while at the same time the event is being livestreamed.

Creating Impact Report. WAFA has been reaching out to all previous finalists from the 2023 award cycle. The response was very high with 75% of projects replying. The feedback was consolidated to an Impact Report which provided useful information to assess the effect of the WAFA awards.

In an effort to continue the engagement with previous winners and finalists a dedicated function has been established at WAFA. The purpose of this function is to increase the understanding of how impact is created through WAFA and what can be done to even expand this impact. The intention is to implement this role with a long-term perspective, since WAFA keeps learning from every single project.

Expanding Capabilities. WAFA keeps developing its competence. Extremely talented and motivated new volunteers are joining WAFA to increase capacity and capability. Both are crucial to further WAFA’s agenda in identifying and promoting Silent Heroes. All volunteers are at the heart of our activities, without volunteers it wouldn’t be possible to accomplish what we are set out to do. Hence, we are very happy and extremely grateful for all the support being provided by these talented individuals.
