How can just $25 a month help break the cycle of poverty for a child in Guatemala? This project will provide free, fun, safe, high quality, hands on, educational activities for 60+ disadvantaged students in rural Guatemala which empower them with the skills they need to succeed, help them adapt to the changing world, improve their social skills, build their self confidence and make learning fun so that they can reach their potential and break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
Access to quality education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty as it empowers students to reach their potential. Our students are at risk of not reaching their potential and perpetuating the cycle of poverty. Many come from broken families, are the first in their families to attend school, and when they do attend school they receive low quality education in overcrowded and underfunded schools. This project will improve 60+ Guatemalan students access to high quality education.
Our learning center, We Are the Future, will provide 60+ students ages 3 to 13 each year with access to free, fun, safe, high quality, hands on educational activities in the areas of Art, Literacy, History, Geography, Cultural Studies, Science, Math, Practical Life Skills, English and more.
We believe where you were born should not determine whether you reach your potential. Unfortunately, one of the main barriers which prevents Guatemalan children from reaching their potential is a lack of access to high quality education. This project will educate 60+ students each year empowering them to reach their potential and break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
