Hi everyone,
I'm so sorry it took me so long to write another update and report. Our world has been very busy with more orphans coming in than what we could handle, and then we had a serious matter where hackers took control of our Facebook page.
But that has now been sorted and I can provide you with an update.
Zulu is a wombat who came into care around June this year, and had multiple issues. First, he was attacked by another wombat and when he came into care, his wounds were badly infected and spanning from head to tail. Second, at some point in the past he was also hit by a car in the face.
These wounds have mostly healed but he lost part of his upper lip and his one tooth turned black.
It is for this reason that we're keeping him in care for a bit longer as we need to be sure that the tooth isn't dead and that it's growing.
It would be fantastic if we had a large safe space to soft release him where he would be safe and where we could monitor him. He will move to a bigger enclosure within the next couple of weeks and we will do a final check up on his teeth early in the new year. If all goes well we will release him after that. We don't have a release site yet but are looking already.
Your support has helped us getting closer to our goal of being able to buy land for a sanctuary. We're not there yet but we are steadily moving in the right direction.
As always, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love and support to all our beautiful wombat.
kind regards
Yolandi
