We have had a slow start with this program as there are so many children attending the newly set up school that we need more hardware.
Also in the neighboring Samos Volunteer Center, the adults are learning computer skills and we hope to include them as well as have their children learn language skills online.
Many of the refugees are educated and have work experiences but need new skills when they are granted asylum in order for them to find sustainable employment in their new host countries. These are skills we are hoping to help them with.
When asking a professor at Meiji Universtiy who has strong ties to Syria, what was the most effective way to help the children who have left Syria, she replied "Language".
So, we have installed laptops and the Night Zookeeper software to allow the kids to connect to the YourMeWe School from overseas.
