By Hayeon Yu | Greeting From The Village In Garbage In Tondo (10)
Hi, we are U9Change, an international NPO volunteer organization.
We meet children from around the world who are suffering from poverty and inequality, and help treat diseases.
We would like to share the latest news from Tondo village in the Philippines.
First, we sincerely appreciate everyone’s continued interest in our Tondo Garbage Village support in the Philippines.
On March 21st at 11:00 P.M., a fire broke out in Tondo Garbage Village, burning countless homes.
After the fire was extinguished, all that remained were non-burning garbage and scrap metal.
Children have been collecting trash amidst the harmful smoke since, for the sole purpose of survival. All the residents have been facing continued difficulties due to the fire. We have provided cold medicines, vitamins, and small snacks to the burnt down village.
We are deeply grateful to all the donors who have supported and enabled us to extend a helping hand to the Tondo Garbage Village.
We will continue to reach out to children in need around the world to support poverty alleviation, education, and medical aid. We look forward to bringing you more positive news in the future.
