With cliamte change and deforestation affecting millions of households in Africa, cooking in rural communities becomes a challange each passing day. Most of the communities dont have trees. To prepare meals women have to walk long distance in search of firewood.
Kukula Solar with you our partners are reversing this by distributing high quality improved clean cookstoves to women in rural communities of Eastern Province of Zambia to ensure that women can save time, money and also improve their health.
With the improved clean cookstoves, women now are able to use the extra time to work in their gardens and use the saved money to improve nutrition or buy new clothes for their children.
The women interviewed said, since they received the improved clean cookstoves they no longer have repeated coughs and chest pains.
We believe that the smokeless improved clean cookstove is the way to go to ensure we reduce deaths caused by smoke.
To all our partners we say thank you for making this a reality for hundreds of women Kukula Solar is working with in rural communities of Zambia.
