Providing added value to farm products

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your support to our project providing farm-based livelihood to girls. Farming because of a host of factors such as erratic weather events, low farm-gate prices of harvested crops and high cost of inputs is no longer attractive for both men and women alike. There is a great need to revitalize agriculture and we can do this by tapping the potential of young people, who still have the energy and passion to implement change in their communities. This reporting period, we promoted the adding of value of farm products by processing these products into highly marketable condiments, tea and food additives. For example, we assisted a group of 5 young women process their chili production into highly-marketable chili paste and then assisting them in marketing. We have several products that can be processed and these are turmeric into powder, moringa into tea and drinks and ginger into tea.

Hoping for your continuing support.

Very sincerely yours,

Michelle Frances
