As part of Al-Mustafa's free Cataract Surgery Campaign, we arrange Eye Camps across Pakistan to fight preventable blindness, especially in deprived communities.
The Locations:
SWAT DISTRICT
The valley of Swat is undisputedly among one of the most beautiful and vibrant tourist destinations in Pakistan. Apart from being subjected to harsh weather and poor development, the valley has been targeted by external terrorism, which has made living difficult, including access to healthcare and educational facilities. Al-Mustafa's Free Cataract Campaign Team visited the following two areas in Swat and held two days of Eye Camps in each area.
1. Matta
Matta is a small town near Mengora city, district of Swat.

2. Bahrain

Our Team
The team for the Eye Camps consists of 3 Ophthalmologists and 14 other technical staff. Local volunteers from schools and other social workers are also encouraged to participate.
The Camp
All the Eye Camps were conducted for two days each. Patients who required eye care treatment other than cataract surgery were also given necessary treatment and medicines at the same site. All these services were provided entirely free of cost.
Postoperative Follow-ups
After one month, postoperative follow-ups were done by ophthalmic assistants of the respective primary eye care centres.
Hepatitis-C Investigations
Apart from providing Eye Care Services, we also conduct free Hepatitis-C investigations to segregate such patients from healthy ones to reduce contamination chances. The positive cases are referred for further treatment.
