Hello friends!
We are excited to share our progress with you at the start of 2021! Looking back over the last 12 months of climate change has given us new energy to provide resources and mental wellbeing support to children around the world.
We are very grateful to our EQ community for being part of our SDG Green13, Climate action movement - from being our POP-UP hosts and conducting the activities to actively participating in providing us the content for our activities.
One of our activities ‘Climate Feelings Poster’ contributed by Talat Jehan, Provincial Headquarter Lead for Balochistan Boy Scouts Association (BBSA), Pakistan. This activity helped children to identify and share their emotions about the effects of climate change and identify actions they can take to support change. Children were eager to create climate change posters and put their feelings into action to contribute to positive change.
Our plans for 2021 are shaping up. We’re creating a new Climate of Emotions Festival Climate of Emotions is a global, intersectional, virtual gathering to connect with emotions around climate change and other issues, form relationships, and re-imagine the future. In this online retreat, people of all ages, and all over the world, will cocreate an experience to learn more about emotional intelligence, the natural world, creativity, mindfulness, and wellbeing to re-imagine, re-connect and re-energize.
This project is another opportunity for us to center climate change with youth changemakers using emotional intelligence skills. During the festival we will be supporting our POP-UP Green13 campaign to provide more resources to children and help empower them to work toward a healthy climate.
As always, we thank you for being a part of our POP-UP community and helping us increase children’s wellbeing around the world.
Warmly,
Patty Freedman
