In Nicaragua, Indigenous Peoples are denied adequate healthcare services and public health information — making them even more vulnerable during a pandemic. Thanks to your support, our partners at Wangki Tangni are meeting the added threat of COVID-19 by fortifying communities with health education, maternal healthcare and food security.
Through the programs of Harvesting Hope — especially seed preservation and distribution, and organic agriculture initiatives — our partners are able to ensure that disruptions to food supply chains do not leave entire communities without food. Because of your generosity, at the end of March, Indigenous women were able to harvest their fields, ensuring that their families and communities will have enough food to sustain themselves for the near future, despite food shortages. We’re grateful to you for helping to nourish these communities during such difficult times. We’re so thankful to have you standing with us! While this project will no longer be featured on GlobalGiving, rest assured that we are standing with the women who continue to support these communities.
