We express gratitude for your generous support in helping Undikumbukire Project Zambia (UP Zambia) bring the spirit of Christmas to 416 children in correctional facilities across Zambia. Your contributions ensured that these children, separated from their families, experienced joy, love, and a sense of belonging during the festive season.

With your support, we provided gift packs containing essential hygiene items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, face cloths, bathing and washing soap, toilet paper, and Vaseline. Beyond these necessities, we shared moments of fun and connection through playing puzzles, football, and music, and enjoying a cultural performance by Barefeet Theatre.

At Mwembeshi Remand Correctional Facility, where many Ethiopian migrants are held, we had the unique opportunity to share Ethiopian food and engage in activities that brought a sense of home and community.

Number of Children impacted by your support.

Thanks to your generosity, UP Zambia celebrated Christmas with 416 children in the following facilities:

  • Nakambala Child Approved School – 40 children
  • Lusaka Remand Correctional Facility – 70 children
  • Katombora Child Reformatory School – 195 children
  • Mwembeshi Remand Correctional Facility – 60 children
  • Livingstone Central Correctional Facility – 20 children
  • Ndola Remand Correctional Facility – 28 children
  • Kasenshi Remand Correctional Facility – 3 children

Your kindness brought smiles, hope, and a reminder that these children are not forgotten.

In May, we will begin preparations for the cold season and will keep you updated on the essential needs of children in detention. Thank you for your continued support in making a difference in their lives.
