Malaika Guardians 2024: quality education in TZ

A new year is beginning and, in Tanzania, this means also a new school year.

Our children and teenagers are preparing themselves to begin next Monday a new challenge, after a period of holidays they spent for Christmas at Malaika all together.

Seven kids attending kindergarten and primary school are excited about changing their school: they will go all together in a new school which offered a good opportunity to Malaika, thanks to some of our US sponsors.

Also our oldest student, who has just graduated in Form 4, now has to discover her new school, where she will study two years before entering University.

Time is passing so quickly... but we have also very young babies who are still at home at Malaika, and they have so many years for studying ahead!

We thank you very much for your help in supporting Malaika with school expenses. We think that the best way to change the future of a person and of a country is to rely on a good education.

As we near the end of the year once again, we would like to thank you for your continuous support towards Malaika Children’s Friends. All your generosity and support continues to make a huge difference in our children’s lives. The girl you see in the photo in the center, for example, has been able through your help to successfully graduate in Form 4 some days ago and we are very very proud of her! 

As nearly half of our children are now at high school, and attending boarding school – their ongoing daily and living needs are becoming more and more expensive. We ask you for recurring monthly donations to ensure the children’s basic needs are met, their boarding and school fees are paid on time, and that they have all the resources they need before the school starts up again. Furthermore, monthly donations allow us to plan in advance for the children’s activities.

We thank you for contributing massively towards our goal of provision of quality education for our children. We have three months left to raise 11624 US$, in order to reach our goal of 22,000 US$,  but we know that this is no big challenge for this community. Through provision of quality education, the children are opened up to a new set of opportunities where they can break the cycle of poverty, and contribute to their community development.

As illustrated in the prospect, $30USD per month will educate one of our children for six months at primary school (inclusive of uniform, school fees, books and transport), $45USD per month will support one of our pre-schoolers for a year, $60USD per month will fund one year of primary school fees for one of our children, and $120USD per month will support one of our secondary school child for a WHOLE year! For 1/5^th cost of your cup of coffee a day, you can pay the school fees of one of our children to receive quality education.

Our next big goal at Malaika is to be able to sponsor the university education of our children, who would like to pursue further education. This goal is only possible through you, and your generosity. More information surrounding this next goal will be available soon.
