Dear Friends,
It is with great pleasure that I send you Karuna-Shechen’s first progress report on our Plant a Kitchen Garden in India campaign.
We started out modestly, hoping to become a partner of GlobalGiving and raise $6000 from 40 donors to supply kitchen gardens for 100 village families.
Thanks to your generosity we received over $43,000 from 550+ donors (these numbers are increasing daily via GlobalGiving) and we became #1, earning an additional $5000 in prize money!!! And increased the number of families helped to 700 (a mid-sized village).
I just spoke with our field director who reported that the program has already started: seeds are being distributed, irrigation systems created, and the planting is under way…
We are so grateful that you listened to and fulfilled the needs of many impoverished families.
