After featuring this project in our September Little x Little campaign on GlobalGiving, we received $11,753 of the $29,360 that Bumi Sehat needed to buy our new truck.
The clinic has long needed an all-terrain vehicle for our monthly trips to mountainous regions in Bali where we deliver outreach medical services and food donations. Up to now, our teams have needed to rent a truck each month. We knew that with our own vehicle, Bumi Sehat could save on rental costs and provide transport for other NGOs, fully covering operating and repair expenses. So, in short, a new truck would more than pay for itself and help our team get into remote areas.
In October, to our great surprise and delight—to say the least—a single donor came forward to say that he would donate the entire remaining amount needed. So, we are happy to announce that our truck project is now fully funded!
Thank you so much to all our wonderful donors who helped turn our wish into a reality. We've just taken delivery of the new truck and include photos of our new rugged all terrain vehicle ready for its first mission into the mountains.
