Distributing vegetable seeds
Dear Friend,
Warmest greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing life-support to poor farmers. This reporting period we focus our assistance to farmers affected by the recent earthquake in the Southern Philippines. This is in partnership with local NGOs on the ground. With the vastness of the effects of the earthquake we initiated the distribution of vegetable seeds in order for farmers to start raising vegetables in their backyards as a means to cope with the lag in farming activities as the earthquake happened. With the massive loss of cash crops, the vegetables will be a welcome food security for them/ We distributed easily grown seeds that mature in short time to 300 farming families.
Hoping for your continuing support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesario

Tree growing
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing life-support for farmers. In the past we focused our effort to providing small-scale livelihoods and farming inputs in order to pump-prime their income generating activities. This reporting period our assistance is into providing them with farming inputs like seedlings for high-valued fruit trees so that they can get income in the long-term. The trees they can grow as over-storey of other crops like vegetables and legumes and this is one of the best investment that they will have. Aside from income from the fruits, they are able to get shade, forage crops and timber when the trees are old and no longer bearing fruits. By next period we will also include the growing of timber trees for the value of their wood. A total of 12,000 seedlings were grown for distribution to farmers.
Hoping for your continuing support to this initiative.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesario Sayre

Providing food packs
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project assisting poor farmers in remote barrios. The Philippines is disaster prone and is identified as number 1 in terms of disaster vulnerability in Asia. With the increasing negative impact of climate change especially for poor farming families with very little economic base, this predicament will be felt more strongly as the years go on. There is indeed an urgent need to find ways in creative manner to provide solutions to farmers. This reporting period is that start of the rainy season but food is still scarce as the effect of the El Nino can still be felt. Our approach is to provide food packs to very poor families with the goal of bridging their meager resources to the next harvest. We were able to reach-out to 75 farming families in this manner.
Hoping for your continuing support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesario
