Thanks to your generosity, Global Water Challenge and women for water are supporting Rede Asta’s Mascara Mais Renda (Masks + Income) initiative to provide masks to high need communities and empower women artisans across São Paulo, Brazil.
Together, we have produced and distributed 28,500 face masks to low-income communities - for approximately 13,500 people - in need of personal protective equipment (PPE).
The women artisans who produced the masks received a stipend for their work and are now participating in Rede Asta's Artisan Business School 3-month program to learn the skills to develop their own businesses.
Again, thank you for your support! Because of you, we are able to provide masks to Brazilians who need it most and life-changing training and income-generating opportunities for women artisans.
Follow women for water’s journey to empower women and girls across 10,000 communities through access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and life skills programs by 2030 on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook! You can also learn more about Rede Asta’s work here.
