Let’s dive into what our project secretary at the Burundi office has in store for the project’s exciting goals in 2025!

“In the coming year, we aim to empower our beneficiaries to achieve independence and build fulfilling lives. Many started in challenging situations—rejected by families or facing isolation—but through our support, they’ve found joy, confidence, and acceptance within their communities.

This year, our focus will be on encouraging their growth, especially women, by helping them develop their businesses, increase their productivity, and believe in their potential. Whether starting small businesses, manufacturing briquettes, or pursuing other endeavors, we’ll continue to guide them toward self-sufficiency with pride and purpose”

Your belief in our mission inspires us daily to push boundaries and create hope where it once seemed impossible.

The Power of Your Generosity: 2024 in Review

As the year comes to a close, we’re filled with excitement for what’s ahead—and gratitude for everything we’ve achieved together. Before diving into the new year, let’s take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come as a community committed to making a difference around the world.

In 2024, we expanded our “Support for Self-Reliance through Charcoal Making” program, with a new vocational training facility almost complete. Also, our street children empowerment project, which began in 2021, is nearing its conclusion, with our last batch of students nearing their graduation. In March 2024, we’ll celebrate the achievements of all of our graduates with a workshop, marking the successful end of this transformative three-year initiative.

Our mission is powered by the incredible people we serve—but it’s YOU who make it all possible. Your support helps dreams take flight and creates a safe, welcoming space for those in need. Because of you, we can dream bigger, reach higher, and work harder every day.

Meet the inspiring members of Avana Marimwe, a beekeeping group in Burundi with a powerful message:

“We have lived through conflict, and we know that without peace, beekeeping—or any livelihood—is impossible. For us, beekeeping means living in peace. By selling honey, we can improve our lives, raise goats and cows, and provide education for our children. It’s challenging work, but together as a group, we make it possible.”

Their honey, called Amahoro Honey—which means "honey of peace"—symbolizes their hope for a brighter, peaceful future. Through their honey business, the members of Avana Marimwe are building self-reliance and sustaining peace in their community.

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news—this year, Terra Renaissance is proudly participating in GivingTuesday!

GivingTuesday, a global day of generosity, takes place on December 3rd, right after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It’s the perfect opportunity to embrace the holiday spirit by giving back and supporting causes that matter.

This GivingTuesday, we invite you to join us in creating a more peaceful world. Here’s how you can make a difference:

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have been able to empower 123 individuals through comprehensive job training, business development assistance, and follow-up services, culminating in an impressive 2.6-fold increase in average monthly income for 105 participants by 2023.

Building on this success, in 2024, we launched the Resilience Enhancement Project for Socially Vulnerable Households, aimed at improving livelihoods through briquette production and raising awareness of complex risks. We are proud to report the following milestones:

Construction of the new vocational training center has began in April.
Vocational training has already started for a small business group focused on manufacturing and selling briquettes.

But there’s still so much more we can achieve together.

With your continued support, we aim to expand our efforts and bring hope to even more communities in need. We believe every one of us has the power to create the future. Every contribution, no matter the size, has the power to create lasting change.
