Greetings! I hope you are in good health and spirit. I would like to thank all of you for supporting our project, ‘Safe SURE Walk to School’ initiative in India India.
Under this project, we selected Peniel School in Bangalore for road safety intervention. The study area of the school connects to a preschool through two tri-junctions and a residential street leading to potential intervention areas. Our team undertook a pre-intervention study at the intersection for identifying the routes children prefer to walk to school. Post the analysis, the team identified 3 major intersections - one in front of the school, T-junction towards the east of the school and another T-junction towards west of the school. The tactical redesigns for these selected intersections were created and estimated.
We envision to see the ‘Safe SURE Walk to School’ project pan out in a manner where all the children of Penial School access education in a safe and secure manner. The images enclosed from our intervention in Delhi will convey a sense of how we intend to redesign the school zone in Bangalore.
A big thank you for your endless support in helping us save lives on our roads.
