After the graduation of the 2024 batch of GLOWAHaus participants, our FollowCare program facilitated the establishment of three micro-businesses for the three top participants. Each of them received a sewing machine, a cutting table and electric iron. Talking during the occasion, the Program Officer for healing and empowerment at GLOWAHaus explained that, the beneficiaries were selected based on their adherence to their personalized healing and empowerment plan. This include, setting weekly task and respecting them. The vocational training part constituted only about 50% of the grading.
It should be noted that participants at GLOWAHaus are at the center of their own healing and empowerment with GLOWA simply facilitating the acquisition of skills such as self-assertiveness, negotiation, entrepreneurship, digital literacy etc.
GLOWA is very thankful to Sustainable Action for Community Development (SACOD), our local partner that delivered the entrepreneurship and business modules to the participants
