At SOLE Colombia, this 2020 has started with many ideas and a lot of questions around peace building in Colombia!
The Big Question "How to give a long-lasting peace to Colombia"? is not an easy question to answer. At SOLE Colombia we believe that many different actions from different people all around Colombia and the world, can contribute to peace in our country. We're not looking for "the one"who is responsible for peace-building, we believe that all of us, each individual, community, organization and group is capable of contributing to a long-lasting peace.
In this sense, we believe that every community doing SOLE around Colombia, every teacher, librarian, community leader and all the participants who are asking themselves diverse questions, who are solving together their own challenges and creating their own Self-Organized Learning Environments -where they can feel free to learn, discuss, give an opinion and build something new-, are also contributing to peace building.
Some of our goals for this 2020, and what we already started to do, is to build a stronger connection between different people who are part of the SOLE Colombia Community (ambassadors, participants, donors, grannies from the Granny Cloud, other volunteers and other people interested in SOLE), and not only strengthening the bond between them, but also with other amazing people around the world who are concerned with the future of learning and the transformation of our world.
And we want not only to have a network with deeper relationships, but also want to invite diverse people to join us on this discovery journey, where we can find together how to face the present and future challenges and explore together diverse ways to bring a long-lasting peace to our country.
For this, it is necessary to reach those places in remote areas, where people could build their own Self-Organized Learning Environment and use the power of the Internet to learn together and connect with the rest of the country and the world. In a country like Colombia -and in a world like ours-, we believe it is necessary to get closer to other people from different contexts and realities. That's why we think that scaling SOLE to all over the country and opening spaces and conversations to talk about what we think and what moves us, and building bridges between regions and different communities, we can contribute to the transformation of our country.
This is a Big Challenge we don't want and we can't face it alone. We are inviting different organizations and communities to join us and are also very happy and grateful that you and so many donors have joined and supported us on this challenge. That's why we're inviting you to share with us any ideas or thoughts about new ways to find more ressources to reach the most remote places and find new ways to connect with each other and bring a long-lasting peace to Colombia.
