After two challenging lockdown years, this academic year has been a happy and hopeful time at Nucleo. Thanks to the ongoing support of funders and our community we were able to keep our programme running during the Covid crisis and when the time came in September 2021, we were able to relaunch a full in-person programme. An incredible 449 children and young people have been a part of Nucleo over the last academic year, and it’s been a huge privilege, joy and challenge to help them all along their musical journeys.
This year has also been a year of growth for our charity, as we have taken on national activities. Our national Instrument Donation bank continues to put instruments into the hands of those who need them most. And we are thrilled to share that from the 23rd to the 26th October we will be running our first national Nucleo Young Leaders orchestral camp, for young musicians who are committed to the goal of developing their leadership, both as a musician and beyond. Participants will have the opportunity to spend three days together with like-minded young musicians and leaders, as well as an inspiring team of adults, all focused on creating an ensemble together, developing relationships, and growing both musical and non-musical skills for leadership, community-building and change-making.
Please sign up to our newsletter to be the first to hear how it went. In the meantime, thanks to your support, we are able to continue to transform lives through music. On behalf of all the talented young musicians at Nucleo, thank you.
